30 Great Colleges for ENTP Personality Types

DegreeMatch.org - 2015 Awards - Best ENTP MatchDM Staff
October 2014

This ranking highlights 30 colleges and universities that, in our estimation, provide an environment that will strongly suit the ENTP personality. These are people who are smart and curious thinkers who enjoy a challenge or debate.

ENTP Personality Types

Within the MBTI framework, the ENTP Personality is referred to as “the Debater” and considered an Analyst. They are people who are smart, curious thinkers, who enjoy a challenge or debate. They love to mentally spar with others and nothing gives them more pleasure than shredding the argument put forth by an equally intelligent competitor. The ENTP is quick-witted with excellent communication skills. They are love to stir things up and challenge the ”status quo.” They love to brainstorm and are honest to a fault. Some might see them as argumentative, insensitive and intolerant, but the ENTP personality does not see that as problematic.

The most obvious choice for the ETNP career is law. Becoming a lawyer is a great way for the ENTP personality to use their natural given talent to argue and create a successful career by using their impeccable communication skills. Other ideal ENTP careers are psychology, acting, systems analysis and science (research). The combination of quick thinking, communication abilities and an unending quest for knowledge make these ideal career choices.

ENTP personality types typically choose learning atmospheres that provide opportunities to present their ideas, argue, shred others’ arguments and, in general, push themselves further. Colleges that offer strong programs in law and psychology are among the top requirements for the ENTP student. Colleges with the opportunity to join a debate team are also an excellent fit for ENTP learners.

Methodology

Tuition information and accreditation information was gathered from the National Center for Educational Statistics College Navigator Tool. Enrollment, Student to Faculty Ratio data and campus setting data was collected from US News and World Report. Additional data was gathered from school websites.

The pool of possible schools began with over two hundred of the highest-ranked programs for majors we consider a good match for ENTP. This data was gathered from US News and World Report in addition to other rankings of top programs in law and psychology. Also factored into the ranking was whether or not the school has a nationally or internationally recognized debate team. Becoming a member of a successful debate team is an excellent way for the ENTP learner to express their love of arguing and debating. The two rankings considered for this measure are the CEDA and NDT 2014-2015 ranking and the World University Debate Rankings. The schools were then ranked with the following methodology:
